The main fallacy: the quality is guaranteed only by presence or absence of spandex. This is not correct at all. Modern pantyhose are made of a warp with spandex addition.

The first, as usual, is polyamide or polyamide with addition of wool or cotton. In the production of higher quality polyamide is replaced by microfiber.

These are thinner and correspondingly more expensive fibers, which differ their special softness.

As for spandex, the most popular product name of this chemical compound is Lycra. Nearly in the half of pantyhose all over the world they add the very Lycra, what, however, doesn’t mean, that it is the only qualitative spandex.

Irrespective the name, thanks to spandex, pantyhose fit frequently forming the figure, they tear less, and, what is of importance, wear longer. Buying the pantyhose with spandex, examine the packing attentively. Percentage of addition varies from 3 to 30% (no more), and it is obligatory indicated on the package. Moreover, there should be one of trade marks of Lycra.
